Lani Sheldon (she/her) / branding / web design /
always dancing / thinks she can garden / terrible cook.

Art and creative expression have been the common thread that has held meaning for me throughout my entire life. But before design, my background was in academic research. With a biology degree I spent my early career years studying animal welfare and songbird neurobiology, before eventually moving into the non-profit world...and subsequent burnout that had been years in the making.

This studio was born from my desire to help women have more agency in their business and career goals. Whether they own a brick and mortar retail shop and are wanting to move into e-commerce, or are a creative solopreneur savouring slow living and flowers from their backyard — the businesses we’ve worked with over the past 10+ years have one thing in common: they understand that design has an incredible impact on how their brand is perceived.

A conscious blend of storytelling and analytical strategy is where my own design aesthetic is rooted. We dive deep into your business essence, who you are and what led you to this point; through our dialed-in process that guides you in making intentional, data-backed design decisions. Crafting a brand full of meaning and understanding that not only brings your customers into the fold, but sparks excitement, clarity and momentum for you personally.

Your business thrives, when you do.

“This was definitely the best money I've spent so far on my small business: it will pay dividends for a long time to come.”

THE FUN STUFF

01

happy place #1

I’m the most content in the garden, dirt under my fingernails, cursing my fussy dahlias, dreaming of acreage and (even more) animals than we currently have...which are MANY.

02

i'm never without

A book (or 3) on the go. Historical fiction, romantic fluff, dystopian YA, speculative lit...you name I’ve devoured it. Old books and botanical texts with original binding are TREASURES and so much of my design is inspired by them.

happy place #2

Dancing at the most incredible empowering, inclusive studio; community and movement are my must-haves for mental health. It’s the biggest piece of advice I give to new entrepreneurs: make sure you have a full and vibrant life (IRL) OUTSIDE of your business. It fuels everything you do, and brings you the perspective you need to endure. And coffee. You’ll need that too.
